CONCEPT

Bal Sahitya Puraskar (Children’s Literature Award):

  • Purpose: Recognizes literary work for children that is creative, imaginative, and rooted in Indian culture.
  • Eligibility: Authors writing in 24 recognized Indian languages.
  • Prize: ₹50,000 + engraved copper plaque + citation + shawl.

Yuva Puraskar (Young Writers’ Award):

  • Purpose: Encourages authors under 35 years of age writing on contemporary and socially relevant themes.
  • Languages: 23 major Indian languages.
  • Prize: ₹50,000 + copper plaque + citation.
