  • The Bommasandra metro station on Bengaluru’s Yellow Line will be renamed as ‘Delta Electronics-Bommasandra Metro Station’ after a partnership with Delta Electronics India Pvt Ltd. The company will contribute Rs 65 crore for the naming rights, with Rs 10 crore already paid. This naming initiative is part of BMRCL’s innovative financing approach for metro station construction. Previously, similar agreements were made with Infosys Foundation for Konnappana Agrahara station and Biocon Foundation for Hebbagodi station, making Bommasandra the third such station on the Yellow Line
  • The Road Transport and Highways Ministry announced a pilot project for cashless treatment of road accident victims + The project will be conducted in Chandigarh + Victims will receive cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh per person for a maximum of seven days post-accident + The National Health Authority will oversee the program

  • NITI Aayog launched the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative to promote self-reliance and prosperity in Aspirational Blocks, unveiling the ‘Aakanksha’ logo representing indigenous products.   • The Hrudaya Jyoti scheme for cardiac healthcare aims to save lives during heart attacks, with emergency devices in public places and hub-and-spoke centers across Karnataka. The program includes AI technology for quick patient assessment and 50 automated external defibrillators in key locations. Patients experiencing chest pain can visit spoke centers for immediate ECG and Tenecteplase injections. Critical patients receive free treatment, and BPL cardholders get free treatment at super specialty hospitals. APL cardholders can access free treatment through Arogya Karnataka Ayushman Bharat Health Card
  • The Union Government’s E-Vehicle policy aims to make India a global manufacturing hub for EVs, requiring a minimum investment of Rs 4150 crore within a 3-year timeline for setting up manufacturing facilities. Companies must achieve 50% domestic value addition within 5 years, encouraging local manufacturing and reducing import dependency. The policy offers customs duty incentives for limited imports and sets a maximum of 40,000 EV imports per year.
  • Prime Minister recently inaugurated the first Oil Palm Processing Mill under Mission Palm Oil in Arunachal Pradesh. The National Mission for Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) aims to increase oil palm cultivation and crude palm oil production in India. It involves various stakeholders and offers assistance for different aspects of oil palm cultivation. The mission targets a substantial increase in oil palm cultivation area and crude palm oil production by 2025-26.
  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the digital Criminal Case Management System (CCMS) of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and new branch offices in Jammu and Kochi, along with a residential complex in Raipur. CCMS aims to enhance NIA’s capabilities against terrorism and organized crime cases, while the Sankalan app serves as a guide for new criminal laws.
  • The Human Development Index (HDI) 2022 report was released, highlighting India’s progress in various dimensions of human development and gender equality.
